ROBINSON CRUSOE ISLAND

Day 1 SANTIAGO

After your arrival in beautiful Santiago, the capital of Chile, we’ll take you to the hotel to enjoy some free time before the adventures begin.

Day 2 SANTIAGO – ROBINSON CRUSOE ISLAND

In the morning, we will travel to the airport and board a private charter plane (seats up to 8 passengers) to Robinson Crusoe Island.  After arriving on the island, we will take a 45 minute boat ride to our lodge.We’ll check in and enjoy a welcome meal. We’ll also walk around the city and explore the heritage and historic sites of the island, including Patriot Caves, Fort Santa Barbara, and the bullet marks by SMS Dresden (1908). At the end of the night, we’ll have dinner together at the lodge.

Day 3 ROBINSON CRUSOE ISLAND

Today, the tour starts on the pier at 9:00AM.  We’ll board our fully equipped boat to go in search of fishermen to mine artisanal lobsters. We will also watch the fish being sourced for the same spinel lobster traps, and you’ll even get to enjoy a taste of lobster in this tranquil bay setting.
Afterwards, we’ll observe the fur seal colony in the Lobería sector of Puerto Vaquería, before sailing to Juanango Island to see seabirds and ferns on its cliffs.
Later, we will go to Tres Puntas Bay and visit the sea lion colonies for a fascinating glimpse of how these animals behave in the wild. We will even get up close and personal with these majestic animals via kayak.  In the afternoon, we’ll take  a walk to the Sal Si Puedes viewpoint and admire the entire Puerto Inglés bay and Robinson Crusoe Cave.

Day  4 Robinson Crusoe Island

We’ll depart at 9:00AM to reach the base of Mount El Yunque, the highest hill on the island. Featuring  many endemic plants and exceptional tranquility, this place is like a Jurassic park, minus the dinosaurs. Together, we’ll  make an Asado Campestre (grilled meat) from island culinary specialties, including the endemic species of Juan Fernández cod. Afterwards, we’ll return to the lodge where  you’ll enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 5 Robinson Crusoe Island

At 9:00AM, we will set off to the viewpoint where Alexander Selkirk, who inspired the famous novel Robinson Crusoe, was shipwrecked for 4 years and 4 months. During our  walk to this historic site, we will observe unique panoramic views,  native endemic flora, and the Juan Fernández Hummingbird. Afterwards, we’ll return to the lodge in the early afternoon (around 1:00PM).

Day 6 Robinson Crusoe Island

At 9:00AM, we will set off with an accredited guide to the Cerro Centinela Watchtower Hill. There, we’ll take a look at  the first marine radio station that enabled communication with the Chilean continent. We’ll also enjoy  a full view of Cumberland Bay and El Yunque Hill. Then, we’ll go to the forest mountain LUMA, where we will have a picnic and relax to the sounds of nature. After a break, we will head to the wells , where the local animals drink water. This spot also provides a unique view of the Pacific Ocean and Puerto Ingles Bay.  

In the evening, we will have a culinary show during which Lobster Perol,  a delicious lobster casserole, is cooked and served. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and cook along with our island chef.

Day 7 Robinson Crusoe -Santiago

Today, we say goodbye to our island paradise  and return to Santiago. Upon arrival, we’ll transport you safely to the hotel.

Day 8 Departure Santiago

Your adventure comes to an end today, but don’t worry! You’ll treasure these memories forever. We’ll take you to the airport and bid you a fond farewell in time for your return flight.
